Game Cancelation Procedure and Referee Notification

Note:  We will contact the referees if any games are canceled.   

Please email us first and check the website, do not phone unless absolutely urgent! 

Coaches *****Remember to contact the schedulers if you are canceling your game, otherwise the club must pay the refs even if the teams don’t show up.*****  

The ref schedulers need enough time to cancel the refs so please follow the notes below.    

 1.  Check website Saturday and Sunday at 8:00am for field closures www.nanaimosoccer.ca go to Fields - Field Conditions.   Friday night games at Merle Logan will not be canceled due to weather unless it is snowing. 

 2.  If the field is listed as closed there is no need to call us to cancel the game, but you should contact the other coach to verify, especially if team is from out of Nanaimo.  If the fields are closed the referees will not show up. 

 3.  If the field is listed as ’coaches discretion’ please show up prepared to play.  The officials will automatically attend and If you don’t show up then the game will be forfeited to the other team.  

 4.  If the field is unusable at game time then the game is canceled due to weather.  Not a forfeit.   

 5.  If you are canceling your game prior to Saturday or Sunday please email Jade or Jeannie at refscheduler@ndysa.ca.  Again, please do not call unless it is a last minute cancellation.
