        <![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify; ">&nbsp;</p><p><span style="font-size: 12px; "><p style="text-align: justify; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; ">As part of our new&nbsp;</span><strong style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; ">Youth Initiative</strong><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; ">,&nbsp;</span><span style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: rgb(51, 153, 0); "><strong>NANAIMO YSC</strong></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; ">&nbsp;has made a commitment to enhancing the experience of our Youth Players by paying close attention to the amount of time that players are in contact with the ball and actually get to &quot;play&quot; the game. &nbsp;To that end, NYSC has implemented a&nbsp;</span><strong style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; ">Curriculum Guide</strong><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; ">&nbsp;for Volunteer Coaches to use at practice and have proceeded with the implementation of&nbsp;</span><span style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: rgb(255, 0, 0); "><strong>Double Sided Games</strong></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; ">. &nbsp;This has championed us as</span><span style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: rgb(255, 0, 0); "><em>&nbsp;</em><strong><em>one of the first Club&rsquo;s in Canada</em></strong></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; ">&nbsp;that use this format to guarantee that players are enjoying&nbsp;</span><strong style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; ">upwards of 70% play time</strong><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; ">, as opposed to the 50% that is the usual Canadian Club norm.</span></p></span></p><p style="text-align: justify; "><span style="font-size: 12px; ">As we fully integrate double-sided formats over the next year to our Pony age groups, you will notice certain subtleties that our coaches will facilitate during game time.&nbsp; Such formats keep us in line with a <strong>&ldquo;player centred&rdquo;</strong> philosophy that strives to keep the development of our young players first.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify; "><span style="font-size: 12px; "><strong>Below outlines how this format is designed to keep players playing</strong>, rather, than spending too much time at this age watching from the bench. You will also note information with regard to what formats of play will be used during the months of <strong>December and January</strong>. As we allow players in a greater range of age groups to enjoy more play time, we are able to bring the double-sided game indoor and those venues and formats are also noted below.&nbsp;</span></p><p><img width="850" height="489" align="top" alt="" src="http://www.nanaimosoccer.ca/imgs/nysc_double_sided_format_etiquette.jpg" /></p><p><span style="font-size: 12px; ">&nbsp;Our U6, U7, &amp; U8 Programs move Indoor for games on December 3, 4, January 7, 14, 21, &amp; 28. &nbsp;Below outlines the formats and venues.</span></p><p>&nbsp;<img width="850" height="695" alt="" src="http://www.nanaimosoccer.ca/imgs/nysc_indoor_game_layout_u6_u8.jpg" /></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span style="font-size: 12px; "><p><strong><span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0); ">U9 Players</span></strong> will have an opportunity to play a <strong>5 v 5</strong> double-sided format for 6 weeks in December &amp; January. <em><strong>&nbsp;This age group and games will continue outdoor for this 6 week period. &nbsp;Schedules are posted on the website.</strong></em></p></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 12px; "><span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0); "><strong>U10 Players</strong></span> <em><strong>will also continue their season play outdoor during the same 6 week period.</strong></em> &nbsp;The U10 age group will continue play as normal during the six week period as facilities cannot at this time accommodate other formats.</span></p><p><img width="850" height="302" alt="" src="http://www.nanaimosoccer.ca/imgs/nysc_U9_pilot_2011_jan.jpg" /></p>]]>

      <title>MEET YOUR NANAIMO YSC TECHNICAL TEAM</title>

He is among those that have achieved some of the highest certification levels in North America. He holds the National &ldquo;A&rdquo;, Goalkeeping, Fitness, and Youth licenses from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), and also holds a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Advanced Youth Certificate.</span></span></div>            <div style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="font-family: Verdana">He brings with him both international coaching and playing experience. Being able to Captain an NCAA Squad while attending university in the United States on full athletic scholarship demonstrated the opportunities that the game has to offer. After a short stint as Futsal Canada&rsquo;s Men&rsquo;s National Head Coach (Indoor Soccer), Bolton, a former National player for Guyana, returned to Guyana and Trinidad &amp; Tobago to guide National and Professional teams. He has also been a Player Development Coach in the Regional Development School of the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer (MLS).</span></span></div>            <div style="text-align: justify; line-height: normal; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt"><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="font-family: Verdana">In South America, he was appointed a GM/Head Coach in the National Super League in Guyana that was established by FIFA and The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), which is the &ldquo;governing body for soccer (football) in the region, and one of six continental authorities that administer the game along with FIFA, the world governing body.&rdquo;<br />            <br />            Here at home, Coach Claude completed 5 seasons as Trent University&rsquo;s most successful Head Soccer Coach since the inception of the 41 year old program. He took Trent University from last in the country to seeing its first post-season action in 22 years and its first quarterfinal appearance in history. He was able to turn the program into a playoff contender while setting records for wins, goals, and playoff games. While doing so, he also developed University 1st &amp; 2nd Team All-stars as well as a Rookie of the Year and one of Canada &rsquo;s top University goal scorers who went on to All Canadian Status in Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS).</span></span></div>            </td>        </tr>        <tr>            <td><img alt="" width="196" height="201" src="http://www.nanaimosoccer.ca/imgs/tec_team_pic_baird.JPG" /></td>            <td>            <div><span style="color: #ff0000"><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="font-family: Verdana"><b>TECHNICAL TEAM</b></span></span></span></div>            <div>&nbsp;</div>            <div><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="font-family: Verdana"><b>IAIN BAIRD</b> has had the great honour of playing on Canada&rsquo;s Men&rsquo;s National Team from 1983 -1987.&nbsp;His insight into the game is of great value, having participated in World Cup Tours, the Olympic Team, Pan Am Games and Captained two Canadian Soccer League (CSL) Teams.&nbsp;During his athletic university career, Baird was proudly named an All-Canadian for the UVic Vikings, while off the field he diligently achieved a Bachelor of Education and a Masters in Coaching.</span></span></div>            <div><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="font-family: Verdana">&nbsp;</span></span></div>            <div><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="font-family: Verdana">The Coaching bug caught fire in Coach Iain when as part of the UVic Coaching staff between 1986-1989, the Vikings won a National Championship.&nbsp;Certified by BC Soccer, he has headed successful teams at various levels in the Pyramid of Play, including High School and the U21 Umbro Development League.&nbsp;At Malaspina College (Vancouver Island University), where Baird was Head Coach from 1996 &ndash; </span>He has a very solid reputation for being able to deliver information in a smooth calm manner.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </span>He holds a Provincial &ldquo;B&rdquo; License and has been a Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) &amp; </span>He was instrumental in the development of such programs as the District Development Centre, Keeners, and the Coaches Mentorship Program.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </span>Having Coached Pony, Youth, Competitive Rep., BC Summer Games, Metro, and Senior Soccer, Hutton has had a great deal of positive and long-lasting influence over many of the Region&rsquo;s Players.</span></span></p>            </span>            <p style="text-align: justify; Girls to Senior Adults.&nbsp;A Nationally Licensed Coach, he holds a Canadian Soccer Association &ldquo;B&rdquo; License, as well as a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and a Master of Education in Coaching Studies;
